It's about to get real... We just got our evening weather report and we are looking good for flying out on the 30th, with a possibility of even leaving tomorrow. Time to stop stuffing my face and getting fat - it's time to go to work :) It's so interesting to notice my reaction to this news... I cannot wait to get started and begin the adventure I have come here for. But at the same time, I've gotten comfortable here at Union Glacier. So it's a bit of a shock to the system knowing this way of life is about to be torn away from me and it's going to get a lot tougher. It's fascinating how quickly we as human beings adapt. I've built a routine and have settled into a pattern here very fast. Union Glacier has become home. In 2 days, I will have a new one... A tent that will move with me across the vast landscape of Antarctica. I have zero doubt whatsoever that I will adapt to that way of life very quickly as well. That pattern will become my reality. It will become me. It will of course be a lot more challenging than this one now, but that's what I came here for. I am very excited to begin the journey and to see what I will find... My live tracker will finally get a bit more exciting now too :)
